Jesus, I need You…
The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. —Psalm 9:9-10
God has not forgotten you. He IS working on your behalf…
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. —Psalm 34:19
Sometimes we look for people to be there for us when we experience lack, sadness, anger, etc. without ever going to God. The throne of grace is open 24/7. And there, you can receive mercy and find grace when you need it—YOUR time of need. Go to the throne of grace today. You can go while driving, walking to work, during lunch, or right now. See Hebrews 4:14-16.
There is no condemnation for those in Christ. And though people or even our own heart try to condemn us for our previous wrongdoing, we must continue focusing on who we are today in Christ. If we turn back to look at who we were, we might experience disappointment, sadness, anger, embarrassment, and hopelessness. Then we would stop moving in Christ and wallow in our past.
One day, a man found a wasp stuck between his window and window screen. He watched the wasp crawl round and round the edge of the screen, looking for a way out. Not knowing how it got there, the man took a screwdriver to help the wasp. He thought he could simply pop the screen open from the outside.
Choose to be patient and kind today. Someone you meet might be having a bad day…
There are so many issues that seek to weigh us down. We worry and stress over them constantly. We cannot sleep, we have no peace, and our minds get no rest. In Christ, we have the ability to place every burden and care we have upon Him. We can exchange our worry for worship; our stress for sleep; and our problems for perfect peace. The Lord is waiting for you to come to Him…find your rest in Him.
When sorrow and sadness rest upon our hearts, we can look to the Lord for comfort and help. He is the One who can heal our broken hearts and bind up our wounds. (Ref. Psalm 147:3)
