Sometimes we spend so much time focused on what’s wrong and missing from our lives that we don’t give thanks…
It is the will of God for us to give thanks in every thing—good, bad, and otherwise.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. —1 Thessalonians 5:18
Thank God for what you have. Trust God for what you need.
What are you thankful for today?!
An attitude of gratitude is contagious.
Isaiah 25:1 – O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
Isaiah makes a personal reference to His God. What he shares is not hearsay or what he learned from another person. Similar to Isaiah, we too can reflect on the wonderful things God has done for you in the past:
1 Thessalonians 5:18 – In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Our society (and flesh) has taught us to focus on the negative and the worst of situations, keeping us in a constant pattern of misery and negativity. This pattern affects our decisions, outlook on humanity, and our lives as disciples of Jesus Christ.
